Sports Illustrated

Editorial Design

Sports Illustrated is a long-established sports media publication known for its distinctive editorial voice and highly recognizable visual identity. The magazine covers a wide range of sports, with a strong emphasis on storytelling, photography, and feature-driven content. Its design system is structured yet flexible, allowing for dynamic layouts within a consistent brand framework.

This project involved designing a full 18-page editorial layout within Sports Illustrated’s established system while introducing a more contemporary feel. Through research, type exploration, sketching, and flatplanning, I developed a cohesive set of spreads that balance visual consistency with variety, resulting in a complete, custom-designed NFL-focused issue.
