Sports Illustrated

This project focused on designing a new issue of Sports Illustrated, reimagined through editorial layout while staying true to the publication’s established visual identity. The goal was to create a cohesive, engaging magazine that feels authentic to Sports Illustrated while presenting fresh design decisions for a new NFL season.

Brief

The objective was to design a full editorial layout within Sports Illustrated’s established and highly recognizable brand system. The final piece needed to follow brand guidelines while still feeling dynamic, contemporary, and cohesive enough to highlight multiple stories without visual inconsistency.

Process

Researching past and current SI issues, conducting extensive type trials, rough sketching layout concepts, and flatplanning the magazine to ensure visual rhythm and narrative flow. The final result is an 18-page magazine with all imagery custom-edited and every spread fully designed and laid out by me, successfully balancing brand consistency with editorial creativity.
